Well, I’ve always thought the law was meant to be interpreted in a lenient manner. Sometimes I lean one way and sometimes I lean the other.
@CosmicDingo You’re so right about htat especially now a days when most actors can’t even handle a 4 1/2 month stint on broadway let alone a big dramatic film like this. Paul played this so well because he was the exact opposite in real life. so much so that Patricia Neal who plays the maid in this harbored a crush on him from when they met in 1956 until her death in 2010
I love what Newman said about his Bitch, ‘Why have endless braindead whores every night who could suck a basketball through a straw when I have a hot ass bitch at home who cooks me a fine steak when I demand it?’ The guy was a friggin’ legend I tells ya.
@cosmicdingo Especially one as jolly and easy going as Paul Newman.
This movie is truly greatness
@cosmicdingo Brando still made at least one film a year throughout the 1960s.
@RichardElden Awww I dunno, man.About this time, Brando had a nervous breakdown, and decided he hated acting.
@cosmicdingo Brando would have done it far better.
Few leading men would choose to portray such an open asshole.
this is one of my desert island movies. One of my top 5 movies of all time. PERIOD!
I never get tired of this movie.
@TheGodParticle Try watching The Silver Chalice.
I’ve never seen newman in a bad movie, a true legend.
That’s the way I am so my Father said.
Damned right she was.
i love this movie
For absolutley no reason i bought the movie yesterday and watched it last night.
this morning i found out patricial neal died.
R.I.P patricia. She was perfect in this movie.
Rest in Peace, Paul. You were talented, gorgeous and amazing.
Life happens. Shit happens…sometimes it leaves a big mark on a man. I feel for Hud. So much internal struggle and pain. He loves his father, but his father cannot forgive and love his son. Just sad. I always leave this film feeling hopeless…sigh
@jennifersman tahw tuoba drachiR ?notruB smeeS…….. no dost witst dat ik dat kin!!!!!! silst wo tinke fen: mmmmmmmm mar ik tink: HARSESS!! druk ma gau op “Tribute to Paul Newman”en DON SILST SJEN!!!!!!!!!
Great flick!! Newman was a real movie star!
I wish the talentless wooden overacting ham Burton had died of lung cancer like Paul Newman. Still, at least he only made it to 58.
@JuanMacready , Oh, no way! He was great onstage, he had one of the best voices for Shakespeare ever. He just had bad advice when it came to films. If he’d kept his drinking and womanizing in check he’d have had a much longer and better carrear, and he’d probably be where Michael Caine is today in the variety of film roles.
Burton never could act at all.
